There could well be a possiblity that the referendum is in fact , ignored .     Neither major parties wanted out .     Time will tell , it won't happen quickly whatever the French may want.    They never wanted us anyway , De Gaulle vetoed our efforts to join I believe  and I think it was only when he was brown bread that we gained membership .

I think the remaining countries will be looking very closely at would be new members who have poor economies and look to offloading their population to more prosperious countries.

Much like the Irish when the south became a republic ,  they wanted seperation from Britain but could not sustain their own population, so still needed them to be able to move freely to live & work in the UK.

I think so....

Meanwhile......

You know how old age pensioners that need care have their houses siezed and sold?? Well, gets better now, latest thing is, old people are going to be forced to "downsize".. In other words, you work and save all your life to buy a nice house, but now, once your kids have left, you will be forced to sell it and get a little flat so the state can have the change!!

But never mind, the nice tories have brought in a "cap" on care charges. Turns out that you will ONLY have to contribute up to £72,000 a year yourself, and after that it will all be free !!!! Yippee!!

[Now, what they that you were all saying about inheritance tax]

See that coming a long time ago so sold house enjoyed the money and now rent, when I'm old the state will look after me!

Reality is unless you have a substantial amount of money then you are courgetteed over each and every way you turn.

So whilst I'm working and earning a good wage I'll enjoy life and have what i want, when I'm old then I'll worry about it (course I will) and there'll be nothing left for them to take and I'll laugh :D

You are right , I have a good friend that served his country for 28 years , then set himself up in business after he retired,. Now he is ill they are milking him for everything. he

Completely shameful, and yet they have plenty of money to slosh around on things nobody wants. That high speed train to birmingham for example. Here where i am [wales], they are spending mega millions on electric trains.. leaving aside the fact that electricity is mega expensive, they are having to raise all the railway bridges, [you can imagine the disruption] and lower the track in the severn tunnel. It must be costing a tango'd fortune... Nobody wants it at all. They would not have the sense to just get rid of the charge to go over the severn bridge, oh no, FAR too simple for them.. The queues at the bridges are horrendous, and it is £6-30 a go.......
