A customer told me CONSUMER DIRECT were good. I havnt rang them yet so cant comment but hopefully i will be calling them tomorrow, its free so maybe worth a try.
They are already involved and said i am well within my rights, but also sugested i went to a soliciter.

Apache, i have said in emails they have untill Friday to tell me if the cheque is coming or not, if not i will be filing small claims proceedings with any costs payable by them selves.

I am still amazed, they used this law here to try and get away with taking some money off what they said would pay my self.

Am i missing something here?

Silly as it may sound..

aspects of business relating to an international parcel company transporting goods would most likely come under the maritime shipping law..

even if parts of the journey were only in this country?

as we are an Island if anything was coming from or going to another country..

historically it would have gone by ship...

and I believe 90% of our goods do still go by ship? ?:| :|

bit like a blanket cover all options law for loss of goods in transit!?

It would only need "SIGNED FOR" not recorded delivery,Recorded delivery provides a level of insurance when sending valuable items.

"Signed For" purely requires a signature at the other end before the letter is handed over,

and you can go on-line to get record of date letter was received & who signed for it.

Personally I would always go "signed for" with a formal written complaint because you have categorical proof the letter was received..
SL the proper name for Recorded is "Recorded Signed For"

You are confusing "Special Delivery" with enhanced compensation etc

I have been dealing with one specific person since the first email.

The parcel went from Sheffield to Kent so didn't even leave the UK.

well thats a V-good bonus...Applaud Smiley:D

they can't fob you off with "oh I wasn't involved with this, and don't know what you are on about!"

just dig your heels in & stick with it DL.

I imagine they just try to fob you off to save them money. If you persist like SL says, they'll likely give in to get rid of the hassle!

:D

wonder how much they are going to take then lol, been at them for 5 months in total now.

My email is now blocked by there servers!

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

[email protected]

Technical details of permanent failure:

Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error.

Is that a sign to say "were not bothered and your not going to get a penny" lol

but if they are blocking your emails does'nt that mean they are guilty by trying to get out of if? :| :_| , if someone done that to me that would make me more angry;) ;)

you could always use a baseball bat (they are classed as a sporting accesory, so you cannot get banged up by the rossers)

the money appeared in my account after a letter stating i was going for small claims court...

although i am still going to go for small claims for the amount of time it took and all the hassle that has been involved with it.
