Mum and Dad went back to Ireland for a holiday when I was 17. I had my driving test coming up. Mum said "If you pass then you can drive my car". That was a Dolomite 1850. Passed my test in the morning, went to see the then girlfriend to "celebrate". Going back home, too fast into a hairpin bend and had a virtual head on with a Toyota Corolla!   Front o/s damage, wing back over the door etc. I had actually stopped and the guy skidded into me but with hindsight I could have avoided it.

Recovered the car to the house and parked it nose against the garage and damaged side "hidden". Even gave it a wash. I swear she was psychic! She virtually stepped out of the cab and went straight round to the damaged side!

A few years ago I reversed my boyfriends car in a carpark and hit a post (turns out parking sensors can't cut through 30 Seconds To Mars played at a deafening level :D ). It was only minor damage, but I knew he would go absolutely mental about it. So when I got home I parked it as close to the garage as I could to hide the cracked bumper. Took it to a garage the next day, who as well as fixing it also cleaned it. Later that night Boyfriend expressed how pleased he was that I'd looked after his car so well :slap

I didn't tell him the truth until after we split up... :D

Apologies, I had nothing to add to this thread.

My 3 yr old on the other hand was very interested (in the smileys) & decided to add his thoughts above.

He'll be shopping online next, we could have all sorts of things turning up....
