Hey everyone,

Was hoping for a bit of insider advice here. I'm looking for some long-lasting boots for work. I've had loads of problems with eyelets breaking and soles coming lose.

Seems I've not had the best fo luck, and should really invest a bit more money. Was thinking of something along the lines of these here.

Anyone on here have any thoughts or recommendations? Would appreciate your help!

Thanks,

Chris

How long are your boots lasting? I found standard Dewalts at about the £45 mark lasted 18months at most, I then went up a level to a £60 pair of DeWalt and I’ve had them 2 years and the only I’ve had is a new pair of laces.

I,got some me blacklader from YESSS for tenner....I am a man blessed with size 11 feet  and nobody else wanted them !  I buy them when cheap and NOT when needed!  Previous were Scruffs. Problem with Blaclader is they are only really Sumer boots as the sides are as waterproof as Diane Abbots  financial knowledge

I've had a pair of Black Rock  for around 6 years ,  small slit in the sides now where the  toecap joins  but comfortable ,  the sole is still intact which is unusual  given the kneeling we do  .  I don't do site work now so they're not being used .

Hold up Deke, I’m not buying into that 6 years genuine use, by self admission you don’t do site work, don’t do much kneeling as knees have had it (see your previous posts) and you’re semi retired!!

I think my boots would last 6 years on that basis. 😂😂

You're right  , bit like Trigger's Broom  I suppose .   I wore them until last year on extensions but my  builder has  unfortunately  left us for a better world  so I'm doing much less now .

I once worked for a rewind firm  who supplied us with boots because the rewind guys had everything supplied .

They were toecap etc  and also had a  metal plate in the sole to prevent treading on nails  etc .     Trouble was they didn't bend as you walk  so everyone seemed to bob up & down .

tried all different boots, always starting to break after 6-12 month... now got some trojan boots from arco, still going reasonably well after 12ish month and not yet starting to fail

I have been using "Workforce" boots bought from "Highland Industrial Supplies" in Inverness.  I get probably 4 or 5 years from a pair.  They are slip on which is handy to slip them off going into a posh house.
