doing a cu change in the near future ...

went round tonight to have a look

everything seems simple enough.

however having inspected the main bonding to the water.

I noticed that the plumber has been in and cut into the water pipe at numerous points using plastic connectors just after the stop-tap .

Do i need to bond ??

or due to the continuity being interrupted by these plastic connectors can the main bonding to the water be omitted ? If so how is this noted on the EIC.

thanks

Plastic connectors are not long enough to raise resistance along pipe/water to avoid need to bond - depending on how many there are. General rule is you need 1.2m of hepco to raise resistance high enough to consider pipework isolated . Test for continuity along pipe and bond according to results, but in this case i would still bond at stopcock anyway, because it is introducing an earth potential to the building. Would suggest you also have a read of numerous posts on this forum related to this subject.
