Doesn't it make your blood boil when someone has a rant over people not responding in a timely manner, then doesn't respond to the replies in a timely manner....
My apologies Barx, but I do have to take a rest sometimes and the world is too beautiful to spend it hunched over a keyboard all day.

Apologies for the delay. I have replaced the inverter with a new one, Fronius Primo 2.5, which needs a registered electrician to set it up with Fronius via their app. That way I can get an extended warranty.

So you expect a registered installer just to register it for you so you can get the extended warranty

Not surprised you’re having difficulty getting somebody to help

I was being totally honest and as usual, you don't know until you ask. I would also expect the person to check it, make sure that it was safe.

Its just your opening post was a bit of a rant and I hope you don't mind me saying this but I do think you've contributed to this situation.

Not sure how to advise you to proceed?

Have you asked your supplier if they have any resellers / installers near you?

My opening post was how I felt, the sheer frustration of not being able to get anywhere for two months.
I've been good and have not yet energised it.
I started with local installers at the very moment my inverter failed, most did not respond, I also got bad advice and one expensive piece of advice from a local solar 'expert'.
So I have been fair, and I am still trying to get things going again, but it is a struggle.

I am not a solar installer but I have replaced my own inverter, wasn’t much to it, almost plug and play, I say almost as I replaced my SML with a Solis, SML don’t use MC4 connectors so had to change them, 10 min job, the Solis was half the price and a 5 year warranty,
So if the breakers are on an the isolators are on, and the cable is ok, I wonder what else is stopping it powering up, however it is hard to tell while sitting on my couch in Scotland.

Connecting is no problem, it's all done. The reason I need a qualified person is to register it for guarantee purposes, as per the instructions.

also, are you contacting people who deal with solar? many electricians dont...
I am trying a new batch of Solar installers, they seemed to suffer from the same problems, inability to reply to a request, except one 'expert', who was very expensive and wasteful.

Opening moan , followed by sarcasm , i can imagine how these 20 phone calls went , its all been connected , i have been good and not energised , just need a spark so i can get an extended warranty.
This thread is making my blood boil !! Grrr , i am going for a rest now and look at my beautiful garden !!

Please, watch your blood pressure, don't want someone else getting those problems.

Your logic is starting to confuse me, not sure how long you have had it sorted and not powered up but let’s say you have been mucking about for a month and you are going to keep mucking about for the next two or three weeks with the price of leccy now and maybe if you are getting FIT payments, you would have been as well powering it up on the last days of decent sun, then if and when it does fail in the maybe extended warranty period you won’t have lost anything as you would have saved on your leccy and can buy a new one and be quids in.

maybe the warranty is needed because its already been installed & switched on and the smoke escaped?
