Looks awesome @steptoe

Let me know what you want for the marquee! :D

:)

Edit: I assume youve been here...https://www.romnation.net

Ye, I've been there BD, good link.

AFAIAA , I have all the ROMs that are available in the format I'm using, 037b5

I know I could remake other formats to work, but as I've made a vertical cabinet its mostly for the original games anyway, I may, at some future point make a control box with buttons and joysticks with different emulators in it to simply plug into a TV,

@steptoe

I saw this and thought of you!

:slap

Steps, it is the Pi2 I have for mine, never thought about a reboot button, will add that to my plans.

Must get my finger out and start putting it together.

i often think we are a dying bread, people that can make things and put things together, but that's another story.

That looks more my barra'  TBH .     Perhaps a bit complicated .    Are you doing the old Tennis was it or football ?  A bat at each side and a single pixel bouncing about .
The original ROM (program) for it doesn't seem to actually exist,

There is a 'remade' version, so I'll put that in if I can, I don't think anyone will ever know the difference, its not as if I'm putting it on antiques roadshow as an original 'old master'

I want to make mine as user friendly as I can for the kids, or anyone else for that matter,

So I want a reboot , and poweroff button on it.

to have it completely usable without a keyboard, only needing that for maintenance or adding/removing games.

Oh, monitor choice can be a bit hit and miss, mine (an old TV actually) , isn't autoplay, so I've put the TV buttons (and volume) on the side.

Used to run emulators on my pc,  :D

Also messed about reprogramming

midi controllers and homemade drum machines with limited success!

With the kit that's available these days at anything's possible at a decent price too.

Gawd knows how much a Bluetooth  controller would have cost 10 years ago but no you can get one for a couple of quid.

I watch a few hardware hacking channels on YouTube, Great Scott and Post Apocalyptic Inventor are worth a mention If you don't mind German accents and dont forget about AvE!

Oh yes of course , do excuse me Sir Stepps , I'd  forgotten you told me you were as pure as the driven snow and have never strayed from the straight and narrow path of rightousness , holyness & blessedness,  had you been born a Roman Candle you would now , verily , be St. Steptoe  of Oil Drum Lane . :innocent   For verily, the amber distillation of the hop has never lured you into the smokey dens of iniquity that call and beckon the wayfaring stranger from the way of the truth & the light into those tunnels of darkness & temptation from which only those who walk with angels would have the power to return unscathed . ;)

May the road come up to meet you
