yes, each to their own, I prefer fluke over megger, but others can be contrary.

the only problem I see is that I think you will be pushed to get that sort of money for what is in essence a 2nd hand meter with no warranty,

personally I wouldnt buy a 2nd hand meter without 1st hand knowledge of its history, ie, personally knowing the person selling it,

they dont go for anything like that on the open market, no 2nd hand meter does.

ebay is full of mugs and shill bidders,

have a look at some completed listings and see how many are relisted

personally IMHO anyone that buys a 2nd hand meter of unknown history for more than they can buy a new one is not the sharpest pencil.

Steps,

I have bought LOADS of test equipment on Ebay, but for nowhere near list, nearer 1/3rd of list, else I don't buy, then I send it for cal.

I've never had one fail yet, including an Avo9!

thats my point exactly,

it needs to be cheap for the risk to be worth it,

Id say 30%-50% tops for something 2nd hand that isnt very rare.

My last Fluke 1652c was less than £500 new from Mark. I will never buy another Megger after the problems I had with a CM500.
