Hi everyone,

Could anyone enlighten me to the minimum amount of sockets required in a B&B bedroom, its being done as part of a project and looking on the OSG it doesnt list it as its not a domestic location. Hopefully this makes sense

Kindest Regards

Bobby

Treat it as any other bedroom, then add the dedicated ones for the kettle etc.

double each side of the bed, somewhere to plug in hairdryer, phone charger etc etc.

Unlike the last B&B we stayed in. Kettle and stuff on a little table. Hold on, no socket. You had to fill the kettle then stand it on the floor the other side of the room to plug into the one vacant socket at skirting board level.

How many do travelodge and premier inn install?.....I bet they don't install more than necessary 😂

not enough. especially hate those who dont have a socket near the bed so once the alarm on phone wakes you up in the morning, you have to get up and go to the other side of the room to hit snooze

Maybe that will teach you not to leave your phone charging whilst you are sleeping!

When we do rewires we always put what we call 'hotel fittings' on the wall where the bed is going, a twin socket and a light switch on either side of the bed at 900mm high. Customers love it, not only do they have a handy socket above the bedside cabinet, but either one of them can turn off the light when they get in bed. One of our customers was really happy with it, she said it would finally put an end to arguing who was going to get out of bed and turn off the light.

Normally. with those 2 I'd put another twin in each of the remaining 2 corners, plus a high level one if they have a wall mounted TV.
