my internet is off for 10days, this is only the first day and I'm round my mums robbing hers! I do have my phone, but I wondering how did we ever manage before t'interweb?? Its driving me mad, I can't access this wonderful site and therefore my work is bound to take a dive in quality!!

Thats carp. Can you connect your phone to your PC and use it as a modem? This is what I did when I moved house and was with out broadband for 21 days. Worked quite well suprisingly! Just a thaught. J

Well, what I did was contact my mobile provider and purchase unlimited internet access, and then cancel after 1 month, think it cost me

I'd stick to the broadband TBH. My sister has one of the dongles and it's useless. The only reason she got it was because she hasn;t got, and doesn;t want or need a landline so broadband + line rental was expensive. It also costs a fortune and takes forever if you want to download anythig of any sort of decent size. After getting through several dongles and putting up with mediocre service we're now beaming the wifi over.

In short, handy if you've no other option, stick to broadband if you can.

Agreed. Wired broadband is going to be better than cellular broadband (3G HSDPA etc..). I have a few '3g' sticks and some of them are ok and one of them is bad.

Mine conked out today, after much faffing and phoning very knowledgeable son located problem in the router. (apparently my 1/2" collet power devil in the shed is no good)

Bought new combined wireless/router and a couple of hours later its working and I didnt even have to phone my son to help!
