I dont know if you remember but my mates Lad suffered a huge shock & flash burns a year ago this week, on a job down Kent way at a college job.

His Dad has asked me to pass on some info as last year they did received some heartfelt well wishes from memebers here & he thought you might like to have a sitrep.

Well he is still off work but is still keeping himself going (with some of dad's motivation skills;) ) to the gym/physio to stop the skin grafts tightening.

He has limited use of his fingers, couldnt grab hold & turn a driver, but can lightly grip objects.

He has to wear a pressure suit over the burnt areas & has suffered a little during the hot weather.

He still has to undergo more operations/grafts.

All the best mate & dont let the buggers get you down;)

M,

Thanks for the update, I do remember, nasty thing.

Glad to hear he is getting better even if slowly.

Please pass on my encouragement, and as you say: NIL ILLEGITIMUS CARBORUNDUM!

I too remember what happened to this lad a while ago. It's nice to get an encouraging update as to his progress. Lets hope things get even better for this lad so he can get on with his life. My best wishes to him and his family.

I recall - twas the (?school?) switchroom, iirc?

Thanks for the update, and our thoughts for his continued recovery. It isn`t a good feeling, being injured that young, with limited options for your future...............But perseverance can (and does) work in the long term.

I guess a few of us on here have had a close call once in a while and as the saying goes..

I also remember it well , scary when I first heard.

Pleased he is on the mend although it sounds like he still has alot more "mending" to do, pass on my best wishes and I am up for a gift for him.

On a side note do you know what the HSE investigation found ?
