people bait them then put them on road so it looks like they got run down. the only time I have seen them is on a road side. They are bigger than I imagined

ive unfortunately ran over three.

the first went through a bumper, radiator, bent a crossmember and the chassis where the cross member bolted in. would have written it off if had gone through insurance.

While repairing that car i borrowed my parents and hit another just the bumper this time.

I really did think they were out to get me.

Rabbits change direction, badgers never change direction. ive learnt the hard way.

Never seen a badger before today, unfortunately it was dead at the roadside , on the Kidderminster road by Clent. Shame.
It was only dead after you chased it through two fields and a farm yard!!!

Here you go Deke... for next time...

Quick ref how to identify a badger:-

This IS a badger.

But this is NOT! Although it has a similar white nose stripe.. the brown bits are a give-away! and its a bit smaller!

p.s.

I nicked those pictures out of one of Apaches books....

"Vets On Site Guide To Identifying Animals"

Hope he hasn't noticed the pages I ripped out! :| :pBlushing

Anyway.. next time you will recognise em straight off! ;) ]:)

Oooh Patch that could end up being very sticky

When i was a young badgers would cross a busy main road come down our road into our back garden and trash the dustbin

When there was two the noise of them bickering would wake me up.

they never got hit crossing the road,,,,nor did the foxes

At the weekend i saw a fox, badger and an owl in the space of 5 minutes in the car at 11pm.

last year i even saw a fox in the middle of Northampton town centre early in the morning,,,made me jump

and do press ups :coat

Roadkill is all too common where we live (Cotswolds). We regularly see Deer, Badger, Fox etc etc mown down. We have badgers living in sets all around our house and they are ok, not too much of a nuisance, but dangerous when cornered. If you hear feet a tappin then turn back!

We get foxes in our garden and street all the time, you can hear them out the back in the night, sounds like a cat being strangled!!

Or maybe it is a cat being strangled??? hmmm

:^O
