So as the title says,,, we are looking at getting a new car as Mrs Noz has just been awarded the higher rate DLA which allows her to get a car on Motability

So,,, we went to have a look today at a couple and like the look of the Nissan Qashqai however they only make the diesels in a 1.5 dCi, 81 kW/ 110 PS @ 4000 rpm and as we tow the occasional trailer (with boats atop) I was wondering if it's going to have enough torque.... The trailer is a 6 x 4 box trailer with a frame on which the boats are transported,, a Laser dinghy weighs something like 60 - 70 kilos with its rig and then there's a trolley which weighs something like 15 - 20 kilos... We also load the trailer with our camping gear..

This will be replacing a Vectra B 1.9TD

What do you recon?

we bought a Qashqai earlier this year. It might only be a 1,5 diesel, but you wouldn't know it. We previously had a 2 litre Peugeot 407, apart from booting it up big hills, you would hardly notice the difference for general motoring. If you think about it, you could have fatter passengers in the back than what your trailer weighs.... :innocent

Rear leg room isn't huge, but upright seating sorts out that. Its not as nice as what we had, but a lot easier for messing about around town, which is where the wife spends most time driving.

TBH I didn't find the rear leg room a problem, now the rear headroom is another thing. .. however our daughter declared that it was ok........

So...... car ordered (360 in Gun metal), should pick it up before Christmas

Don't know if its a bit premature,,,, but we sold our old car today so if it all goes to plan we'll be carless for 10 days,,, unless we can hurry them up.......

We did however get the full asking price which was exactly the same as we paid for it 18 months ago and I've only had to replace the rear springs in that time

Whoooo hoooooo

Picked up the new car today :) :). Got it in black instead of gun metal.... Looks great

However it does come with one of those stupid inflation kits and not a spare wheel as I thought :(

We did have a little problem though.... Mrs couldn't lock it with the fob,,,, we eventually found out that the boot hadn't been shut 100% correctly... Women hey?

And then after getting home the flipping van wouldn't start,,, hardly any lights on the dash at all..... The negative lead had come out of the battery terminal..... Thankfully I had a 16-8 uninsulated lug on the van :)
