December 12th?

Thats rediculous, 6 weeks notice for all he companies with work booked in, 6 weeks for all the customers saving up for PV and 6 weeks for all the firms who are going through the MCS accreditation, which will is going to be pointless as mines in 4weeks time!

I don't understand why it needs to be cut? The government isn't paying. Its the leccy companies, then the customers of those companies getting the bill, the people without the pv. Its a win, win to me personally, it forces people to invest in renewable energy. 25 years down the line we should have an expansive microgeneration system, and then a big rebate in electricity costs as they wouldn't have to stand the fits payments, but I doubt the later would occurr.

Agreed.

Get your voices heard guys - these massive cuts, to an industry just beginning to walk, are going to result in thousands of job losses.

The next problem is going to be the supply chain, which won`t be able to keep up with a nationwide 300% increase in demand - followed by a virtual standstill - which will push the costs back up.

ONE of the AMs I emailed has replied - Peter Black ([email protected]) - he is interested, but admitted he wasn`t "up to speed" on this, and is going to research what is happening. He suggested that Chris Huhne (cmailto:[email protected]mailto:[email protected]hris.hu[email protected] ) would be the minister best placed to deal with the issues.

He`s next in the firing line, then (or for the squad) ]:)

Typical short term profiteering again.

Not going to mention parties as one is as bad as any other, however, this Gov't is all for themselves, how can a multi-millionaire say that he is in this recession with the rest of us!

It just seems that as usual once they get into power they just become corrupt.

You can email all the politicians you want.....bet you'll not get one to commit to anything & you sure as **** will not get the truth!

I was looking at going MCS but not now, looks like it will end up being a market sector for the larger companies now.

Have to say I'm with patch.....bring on the Nuclear power stations.

its not the leccy companies paying, its the general public who dont have solar. the leccy companies are paying more per unit than they are selling it for. would you go do a job for

Its a supply demand scenario. Or it should be. Energy prices are rising due to the lack of resources or diminishing resources. The more renewables we have the less reliant on the national grid the cheaper the energy prices should be.

If the government allocated xx amount of pounds to this, one of the fasted growing sectors, then they need to find some more money from elsewhere to keep it afloat.

You've got that completely on its head. Whilst the electricity companies are forced to pay silly money for this 'green' electricity the majority of us suffer with higher bills. I cannot see for a single second why the people generating power should get a penny more than the wholesale electricity price - in fact because they are producing measly amounts they should probably get less.

The main reason energy prices are rising is the increased cost of coal, oil and gas. If the electricity companies are forced to buy more expensive 'green' electricity then prices will go up not down. The only way to save should be by generating your own and using that instead of the bought stuff.

I'm not totally mean, I do feel sorry for people's businesses that will suffer from this change, but you did know it wouldn't last forever and you were foolish if you put all your eggs in that basket, so to speak.

Trouble is Patch, unless we utilise the "green" options the price of carbon based energy will rise over 100 fold within the next few years.

That is the issue.

Yes.

My point is that now the money has to be paid out to turn this country around and get the people who are moaning about high prices to consider making their own energy!

Then in 25years time the payments will stop, the country will have lots of Pv and not rely on france and russia for our energy!

A more realistic end to fits would be to lessen the years each year.

Yes we all knew this current FIT would not last forever.

But everyone thought this was the rate on offer until some time next spring, and a new (probably lower) rate would follow then.

So everyone was working to a plan, selling systems on the basis of that deal expecting that agreement to be honoured.

And people like me were planning on getting a system installed, knowing we had a few months to sort out the detail of how and when to get it installed and by who.

I think the outrage and shock we are all feeling is that the current offer has been cut short, leaving people high and dry, businesses with systems booked that can't possibly be installed in time to qualify for the last few weeks of the present FIT, and customers who are going to feel angry / cheated / conned to find out the ladder has been pulled up.

And for anyone in that situation who has paid a deposit but won't get their system in time, for them, is this the next "miss selling" scandal?

Anyone know where I can get some uranium? Might start a range of small scale nuclear generators! ;) I know carbon isn't the answer!

Chris huhne is as far as I know anti-solar and all for wind
Like most MP's he is full of wind....... you only have to watch question time or listen to PM's questions, no matter what party they are from none will give a straight answer to a direct question from the electorate, they would much rather take cheap snide party shots at each other. Or the muppets (Nick Clegg) like to tell us how much extra money is going overseas to help new companies start up in the likes of Egypt (i think that was the last place to get a handout from our glorious leader)......******s the lot of em.....It amazes me why they can not see they are loosing any credibility the general populus had for them.

Makes me glad to be in Scotland.

It's a refreshing change to watch Alex Salmond, or indeed anyone from the SNP and how they conduct themselves in the Scottish Parliament.

It's a refreshing change to see politicians who don't spend all their time ****ging off the opposition and engaging in sleaze and scandal. Instead, they have this rather peculiar habit of actually doing what they said they would in their manifesto.

A very refreshing change from Westminster politics. Bring on independence.

do you want a hand with the grid connection?

or can I just run a big extension lead over to yours?

Hmmm, and I got a phone call from the NIC today about upping my public liability for solar! I smell a rat!
