Nobody can answer where to put the spur for the hood. That is your preference and depends on the hood and the kitchen layout.

Some are happy with the FCU on the wall high up next to the hood. I don't like that in my house. I have just a connection plate on the wall that's hidden inside the casing of the cooker hood chimney (mine is about 250mm wide) and the FCU that feeds it is on the wall above the kitchen wall units so you don't see it when standing on the floor.

I'm really lost now....

Supposedly the OP is an electrician and he is employing electricians to rewire his property,yet no one knows where the spur goes>?????




well its a new house being re-wired, so maybe he did wire it himself in the first place and now has to get someone who completed the full 5 weeks in to re-wire it after it didnt work?

 
Personally I'd go for the easiest/cheapest solution.

leave the kitchen window open when you're cooking.
