Afternoon all,

I have been away from the site for a while due to busy times but have returned to see the same old faces which pleases me. You may or may not remember I worked in maintenance and didn't hold any electrical quals and wanted to get into college to do these.

Well for an update I have been approached by an electrical company that recently worked on our site. Due to how I presented myself with them and them being impressed with my knowledge despite a lack of quals. They have offered me work through them starting in two weeks and with a view to putting me through college as an apprentice!

I'm absolutely delighted and have accepted. I have just handed in my notice to my company this morning. I can't wait to be working in electrics full time.

I hope everyone is well and is having a good new year so far :)

Good news in these times, just shows what impressions can do for people.

Good luck in the future, take any extra training you can aswell, ipaf, pasma, ecs etc. it all looks good on the old cv.

Once again well done, these opportunities don't come along often. Grab it and run I say!!!!

Well done

Always try to anticipate what the bloke you are working with will want next...that always impresses

Eg if he has drilled a hole in a brick wall be ready with a plug and screw etc BEFORE he asks! It's the little things that make a shed load of difference

And remember the old stupid questions are the ones that you DON'T ask!

Thanks very much, thankfully I have worked previously with an older man who drilled it into me that I was to watch him and know what he was going to need next. I had that drilled into me from leaving school so hopefully will have no issues there. I'm really looking forward to getting onto site and working day after day in the job that I have wanted for so long. Now given the additional chance of training properly at the same time makes for a good start to 2013.

Also I had a lovely letter this week from the tax man, turns out after numerous disputes with them that my tax code was wrong, they have worked out they had got me coded wrong and I should be expecting a little over £1500 back this month!

So far a pretty good start to the year :)

Thanks, Andy

well done good luck with the new job.
