Hi everyone!

Freelance technician and training to be a contract installer.

Some advice needed though, got the 17th Edition, what else do I need as an absolute minimum to actually call myself a freelance installer or be able to work on new house sites installing equipment and systems?

Any advice is great.

Welcome to the forum. when you say, got the 17th edition, do you mean you have a copy of the wiring regulations BS7671 or that you have passed a city and guilds exam? If exams which ones? Have you passed any courses relating to installation theory & practice and understanding the electrical science relating to single phase and three phase supplies and effects of various types of loads? Or just purely and understanding of the wiring regulations.

Hi there & welcome. Steptoe & Doc's questions are relevant. If you've completed the 17th edition exam (C&G 2382-10) i'd think you would still be looking to do the 2367 & 2368, AM1 & AM2. That's what you needed in my day as a minimum. The 17th edition exam is geared at giving you a good understanding of how to use the book.
