Hagemeyer owns both Neweys & WF although they both operate operate, market & purchase separately. They also own Parker Merchanting. Rexel Senate trade solely under that name. There is going to a lot of overlap which must lead to closures & redundancies.

It is not uncommon with many business following mergers & take-overs for stuff to still keep running separately..

due to incompatibilities with computer systems, stock control, payroll etc.. etc..

it can be a very long & expensive process to fully integrate all aspects of the businesses..

AND some times there may be a desire at a later date to sell a division/subsidiary company off to someone else...

which is easier to do if it is a self contained business unit.

I take your point. However you've only got to go into major cities like Leeds, Manchester or Sheffield & you could through a blanket over the Neweys, WF & Senate sites.
