Hello all, I am new!

I have my NICEIC inspection due on Thursday and I think I have everything covered, but..... in the requirement checklist that they sent, it says I have to have proof that I have submitted an application for each address from which electrical installation work is arranged or carried out.

I have searched everywhere for what application this is and cant seem to find any answers.... Can anyone help please?

Many thanks in advance

Hello and thank you for replying!!

No no the wording is correct (straight from the paperwork!)

i think i will give them a call tomorrow like suggested and see what they say.

Plenty of biscuits will be available!!!!

Thanks again

God knows... like others have said they probably want building proof of Part P compliance

All I needed was regs, certificate log book, contracts, risk assesments, cal cert & continuous accuracy check, guide to electricity at work regs (available online), complaints log, inside leg measurement and most importantly my bank account details

If you look at the conditions for initial registration point b.  http://www.niceic.com/medialib/www.niceic.com/Schemes/DIS-Rules-Jan-16-V2.pdf  this states;

b. Make an application for registration under the scheme for each trading title and each trading address that wishes to self-certify that its

domestic electrical installation work is compliant with Building Regulations; and
i.e.  your business could be a small multi person enterprise, operating from multiple addresses. In which case you need multiple applications.

Just spoke to NICEIC and all it means is that you have to have the appropriate certification for electrical works carried out... So thI condition reports, installation reports or minors etc

thank god, panic over!!!

Thank again for all your help

Hate to say it but, i will say it

i think they are wrong and have misunderstood your question

BUT.  As tou appear to be a "one man band"...so,only one operating address AND you have all your paperwork in order I would not panic.

ask the assessoer when he appears...point out the relevant clause on their website and get HIS interpretation....then post the result back on here please.

my dealings with the NIC over the phone have been as illuminating and useful as a bell on a goldfish's bicycle.   We have only been in the NIC for 60 years so have had many MANY dealings with them...none of them were 'positive'

Well I don't mind being a part of your life once a year oh and you can call if you like, I'd probably be as much use as them too.

So if you could post addy that I can send an invoice too :innocent

actually I could send an RR pic upon receipt of payment?!

Yes to be honest it didn't sound right to me, but I will take it for now and like you suggested, bring it up with my inspector on Thursday, see what he has to say.

But I have questioned it and researched it loads and have had so many different answers - it clearly needs addressing by them doesn't it!!

I shall report back after the dreaded inspection and let you know! Wish me luck!

Hi Jenny.

Im sure you'll be fine. A few pointers, make sure you're up on your testing they like to see that, know your Ze values.
