but lol .. despite on that thread calling silicone user bodge artist.. a lot of electricians do use silicone sealant.

well had another chance to find more stuff today.
Pulled out the range type cooker for them today to take a peek behind it, also owner wanted to clean behind there.
found a surface mounted box hanging loose with some 2.5mm cable entering it about 1' exposed cable after exiting the wall, unclipped.
as well as some 2.5mm cable hanging loose accross the back of the cooker.. litterally exits from under the worktop on the right.. cuts accross behind the range cooker.. again completely unprotected or even clipped.. then enters under the worktop on the left.
Also, couldnt find where the cooker cable entered the kitchen.. but somewhere along the line they have gone from 10mm at the consumer unit end.. to 2.5mm and wired all of the kitchen sockets into it... so when you switch off what is labelled cooker.. all the kitchen sockets go off as well... also worth noting that is on a 40amp mcb.. even though kitchen end all seems to be 2.5mm
then theres the shower mcb... 32amp.. 6mm cable as above.. but guess what else I found wired into the same MCB... 3 circuits in total, they have wired the upstairs sockets as a radial in 2.5mm into it, the 9.5kw shower, and the boiler.
then you get another MCB on there labelled up, Sockets groundfloor.. which does all the ground floor surprisingly enough..
then another MCB labelled sockets upstairs.. but it only does the double socket on the landing, and 1 socket in a bedroom.. which is fed off the 1 on the landing.. so an MCB for 2 sockets...
why they couldnt of just put the actual upstairs sockets radial on that upstairs sockets MCB who knows.. instead of wiring the majority of the upstairs sockets into the shower MCB
and the boiler could of been put on its own MCB, as there are blanks in the CU.
then theres the other act of idiocy... 2 way kitchen lighting.
with the 2 lightswitches on opposite walls within a metre and half of 1 another.

Really? Worked in a plaster factory for 25 years, never come across that one.
