hello chaps,

i have to go and look at a nightstore later, 3 years old, not used much.

there is power to the fcu but the heater wont come on.

he has changed the fuse

is there any way of testing the stat?

how do i test the thing with no power on?

thanks

paul

First thing i would check would be thermal link/cutout. They quite often go. Easiest way to test would be to put a plugtop on and plug it in toa nearby socket.

Just do a continuity test at the terminal block inside the heater Paul

WITH ISOLATOR OFF

If elements are in circuit then you should get a reading of between 16 and 64 ohms depending on size of heater i.e. 3.4 kw around 16 ohms 0.9 kw around 64 ohms.

If NO continuity i.e. >299 ohms then check continuity thru thermal cut-out or link, stat and elements.
