I find it quite easy i don't do domestic work.

Any domestic work i do is friends or family only and then i don't like doing it.

I went from nic to napit but with about 4 months In between I wasn't registered and all the building inspector wanted was a cert. infact I have never been asked for a notification cert

how long do you think this whole part p Will last, could we not just notify direct to building control cut out the scams .

What's the point in doing it Atal. I think it is crap.. U don't need to be with a scheme. I am I don't even notify half the jobs.

Because I would need a full time receptionist if I did.

I hate it and I think it should die

That would be like buying a house without an Estate Agent .

You'll be wanting to change a lightbulb next without filling in a Minor Works Cert and submitting a Risk Assessment to 'elf 'N' Safety.

so what would happen if i did nt notify but the work was to standard , i seen to do loads of well previously p i rs for people buying a house ,where clearly work had been done but no one new or was bothered as long as my report said things were ok .

They are waste of money they expect you to have so many qualifications it's unreal if I signed up I'd lose all my profits doing courses and filling in paperwork

It's the people/departments requesting the paperwork who have no electrical knowledge whatsoever and tell the client/tenant all is fine as an NIC NAPIT ECA...EICR/IC has been completed and the world continues to rotate!! If someone is killed or injured and Judge Dread comes along and says well where are you 'competent?' Work the answer out....

so why do you bother being in napit then?

cos according to your IP its the one registered in the napit database for member cookies. :C

Your not likely to be asked for a 'notification cert', are you - unless you've notified work in your own house and then went on to sell it.

I've 'notified' (via my scheme), loads of jobs......and I've never even seen a 'notification cert' or 'compliance cert' - couldn't even describe one to you.

Why?? Because it normally arrives on the customers mat about three weeks after I've left.
