Hi All

I have my 236 part 1 & 2 also 2391 and 17th.

Yet in the eyes of the JIB I will only ever be graded as trainee.

Has anyone else experienced this and how do you feel about it are any of you thinking that all electricians should do the NVQ.

Id be interested to find out.

Thanks

James

Ha Ha Ha I love that

Most of the good electricians i know have bugger all qualifications but i gather from your replys you dont favour the nvq.

I have also had the same problem i have 2230 lv 2&3 16th 17th regs pat testing 2392 & 2391 when i phoned jib thay aid i still need 2356

so now i am doing it at my work asseser comes down once a month to take

photos of me doing the job but i do think nvq's are a farse as any onecan be holding a bit of cable for a photo i am tempted to do a cataloc pose

this is the 3rd one i have done now but if you do it before december

you will not have to do the am2 which comes into affect then

If you get registered for the 2356 L3 NVQ soon you'll have a couple of years to complete it, if you leave it too late the 2356 ends & gets replaced with 2357 which also replaces 2330 (equivalent of your 2360).

I fully understand that it's a pain in the Aris to go back to school now but if you need the ECS/CSCS card & JIB grading it is the only way to do it, the grandfathers' rights route was closed a while ago.

There are 8 units in the NVQ, each with 7,8 or 9 performance objectives (POs) totalling 65 POs which need to be covered 3 times each. The AM2 exam counts as a third entry for 4 units (34 POs) leaving 161 POs for diary work or on-site assessments.

If you've got the range of work & a supportive assessor you should be able to complete in under 12 months.
