Need some nylon screws - use them when no cpc in lighting circuit/metal back boxes. Anyone know where to get some that doesn't require buying 1000 minimum?

As far as 7671 goes i dont think they are required.

The only ones I have are ones supplied with danlers stuff that I didnt use.

You raise an interesting point , Lillman , that I have never heard mentioned before .

Doubtless the NICEIC have covered it somewhere.

Many of the early backboxes have threaded nylon fixing points but not all.

Have to agree that there is a risk of shock should the back box become live.

Nylon screws would be a nightmare , breaking off etc. I can only suggest replacing the switches with the ones that come with the plastic caps that hide the screws, Designa brand at Denmans is one .

My Designa switches are on standby - it's just I've had a stock of nylon screws for ages so always used them.

No need to fit them IMHO, & FWIW the opinion of my NIC AE.

Screws are below surface and such a small surface area that they are an in significant risk, however, I will try to find some for you!

What length do you want?

16 or 25 are easy to get in 100's.

Hi all, I would not want to leave anything with live exposed parts either, but plastic screws that could snap off would be worse i think..

By the way, they are DEFINITELY NOT required by the regs either..

john...
