Anybody have a good way to disguise/Camouflage surface clipped T/E on oak frame of a patio come BBQ open framed out building?

I have minor works to a lighting circuit which involves a couple of drops down posts & through to coach lights. So I,m trying to hide the T/E s best as possible.

Good luck, we did an Oak framed new barn style house last year where all cable had to be hidden.

We had lights on posts and we drilled up from the centre to the top with long auger bits.

On the tops of the beams we had carpenters router out channels for cables to lay in.

One thing in our favour was it was green oak, and it drills easy when like this.

Can't think of a way to hide it, but black flex may look better if it's on show.

Yeah I'm with streetlighter, unsheathed piro would look alright

Have a look for D-line trunking, apart from its pleasing shape it also comes in wood colors and is avaiable from TLC - fhttp://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_Index/Trunking_Pvc_Index/index.html?source=adwords&kw=d+line+trunking&gclid=CP3MiZnXo7ACFcQKfAod5EgFWA amongst others.

Failing that try wood achitrave strips.

We had to get some specialist conduit for one job, I remember looking on a dedicated church electrical companies site who had links to the types we used.

Often used in churches, the conduit is coloured to the type of timbers used. I do remember that the price was very high. Have a google and I am sure you will find some good sites.

would have thought you were an expert at that M

Cheers all.

Would go with MI if a larger job but the cost for a small MW job, customer said no.

The drilling down the centre of the posts idea, might have been an option last year when he had the thing put up before the roof went on (like the idea of routing the beams).

Staining might be an option, but off to check D-line & other conduits.

Be careful with the bare MICC on oak. When I used to work in churches there was a book published by Church House Publications called 'the Wiring and Lighting of Churches' it warned of using bare MICC on certain types of Oak...just a thought.

If it was me I would be looking at the Router option. Be F Careful if trying this yourself; I have 2 routers , used incorrectly they will have parts of you anatomy off in the shake of a 'bent Politicians Head'......... :coat
