Off-peak Circuits & Metering

Thanks in advance for any advice given on this. The house has traditionally had two sets of sockets (one for mains power and the other for off-peak, currently E10) feeding to two separate meters.

I'm thinking of switching to a new tariff that doesn't differentiate on timing and has one meter but ideally don't want to lose the ability to use the current off-peak / E10 sockets. Is there a way that both current circuits can be fed from one power source and charged through one meter? Or is it unlikely that this will be possible and the off-peak E10 sockets will end up without power?

Any competent electrician should be able to amend the feeds to the circuits to ensure they are all live 24/7.

So you shouldn't lose the use of any sockets, but I wouldn't recommend it as a DIY job.

Off peak sockets sound like repurposed night storage heater points, easy enough to reconfigure.

There are a lot of late 60's and 70's properties that have had the old storage heater supplies repurposed after E7 fell out of favour

They will be back in favour when the government switches the gas off.

At that point there will probably be no cheap off peak electricity as the load on the grid will be significantly higher than it has ever been in the past
