The following situation:  two rooms that were put together in order to create a home-office.  Each room has a switch that operates the ceiling light.  One ceiling light has been disconnected (room 1) and the other (room 2) operates a rail with several spotlights on it covering both rooms.

Putting in new wires is not an option as this would be very expensive due to the way the building is build and there is no way to make the changes in the fuse box.

However, we live in the age of everything being remote and wireless.  So is there a gadget one can put behind the switch in room 1, that signals the switch in room 2 to put the light on or off.  So, with this solution one could operate the ceiling light regardless from which room one enters the new room.

Look forward to your thoughts and solutions.

Probably depends upon how your existing lights are wired..

loop at switch or loop at light, or loop elsewhere?

Not to difficult to google wireless switches are read if the various specs are what you are after..

Some are designed to be paired with their own compatible devices..

Other connect up to wi-fi for control via phone app..

I am too busy to start listing links to various products as you can do that yourself with the help of any search engine..

Probably best for you to do a bit of internet browsing then come back to us with any items you think are suitable..

and someone on here could re-read the spec to double check you haven't missed anything.

It is always worth remembering that although many things can be done remote/wireless..

When looking for long term reliability we still live in an age where hard-wired will always beat wireless.

Quinetic stocked by TLC is one brand that is mentioned and used quite a lot on the likes of YouTube, not used them myself so can’t give any comments on ease of use etc.
