Hi all.
I've had a career in oil and gas that its definitely time to get out of. A lot of what I've been doing is helping electricans anyway and before this career my work was related to electrical work. I probably should have quit the academic career a long time ago.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the fast track c&g courses which are probably my best option since apprenticeships are difficult due to my age. The cost is a bummer for a low/mid paid job but I'll suck it down and I'm happy to as some places are used my the MoD which speaks volumes to me.
I'm interested in conversions to other countries.
Is there much advantage in doing training abroad? Feel free to comment on any country. Learning languages is difficult for me but not impossible.
I'm also interested in whether you possibly wished you took a different path? Some types of work are forecast for growth... Would straight into auto electrician be a bad idea?
One thing I learnt from this career is don't be too specialised.
So what would you do if starting from scratch to get into automation such as self driving cars?
