Thanks, was thinking of getting a head start by running the cable and getting the electrician to do the connections. Originally I thought I could do a DIY version but all I have is doubt now, so will leave the complete job and have a rethink

The best thing to do would be speak to an electrician and discuss your requirements and if he is happy for you to install the cable then you can move forward with your plan

The main problem with what you propose is that is isn’t compliant with the specific section of the regulations that relate to supplies for EV charging:-
a) it needs to be protected by an A type RCD
b) it more than likely needs to have O-PEN protection
c) it needs to have a socket that states that it’s suitable for EV charging

As for the SWA into a plug…. I wouldn’t do it that way as you cannot properly terminate SWA into a plug
