Honest guv I looked it up :pray . I missed that one .

I remember doing one of the editions and getting a question on cable heights , can't remember which one. 

 
Its one of the Reg's hidden secrets Andy.

I have some measurements in my head but refrain from posting them in case they're wrong.

In 417.3   in the Placing out of Reach section , it  refers us to the  ESQ&CRs  2002

I can only see a given height in the Agriculture section 705.522    which is 6m

Oh thats the old Big Red too ...which is still used on the desk  ... Big Yellow is in the van .

There is a plethora of advice in the 15 Edition  but thats of no use really is it !      But I could show you how much better it deals with the subject . 

Oh how easier things seem in those far off halcyon , sun dappled peaceful days that mellowed into a warm eventide as the golden Sun sank into a millpond ocean ....  Oh !and skirts were 10 inches above the knee.

Diagrams A & B - so if I have a bungalow, its not possible to do this then.......

 
You could use support poles or raised brackets attached to the building If it was absolutely necessary.
