I think what the problem was is that as you twist the multicore cable then you tighten the cores against eachother, this then makes them stiffen.Would'nt aircraft wiring cable be flexible, like ship cable as I remember, a very tough but flexible cable because of the constant movement of the vessel. Terminated with ferrules crimped on. Different set of regs.
And yes they are a different set of regs, but we are on about the principles of twisting and the possible problems that it causes.
