Would'nt aircraft wiring cable be flexible, like ship cable as I remember, a very tough but flexible cable because of the constant movement of the vessel. Terminated with ferrules crimped on. Different set of regs.

I think what the problem was is that as you twist the multicore cable then you tighten the cores against eachother, this then makes them stiffen.

And yes they are a different set of regs, but we are on about the principles of twisting and the possible problems that it causes.
