I feel MUCH younger than I did, before I read this thread..........

You'll feel even younger with this one Martyn.............the first two cars I owned had starting handles

Now heres a random thread to resurrect if ever I did see one.....

I had a 1.6 Mk3 in black that some silly bint tried to park in, and a 2.0 in red that needed a fifth gear, every time I drove it it felt like it needed an extra gear.

I eventually sold it to a guy at work who did banger racing at the weekends. Came into work one day and he called me over and said "Hey you know you said that Capris only a four speed? First decent shunt at the race last weekend and suddenly its got 5 gears" :slap

Don't like pickled eggs tho

As for pickled eggs, I like them with chips. Went to a pub once that had a jar of them. I got one and they must have been in there for years, nearly dissolved my teeth.
