Is there a fused spur somewhere outside the bathroom I've seen on numerous occasions on new builds they do this the fuse may well of gone. Probably best get a local spark to check it out if the fuse has blown u need to know why not just put a new one in and forget about it

none pro dave .....and there's no fuse spur just wanted to check the basics before I call a professional out

If nothings tripped, no fused spur then it sounds like it could well be a

Loose wire either at bathroom or bedroom light point

Probably a neutral wire, a spark will find it in 20 minutes

Could be anything, a faulty switch even. A local electrician should be able to find the fault and fix it quickly.

I discounted a faulty switch due to op saying it was lighting in two rooms en-suite/bedroom

I recon the copper thieves have nicked a bit of your cable going from your switch to your light. Buggers they are

thank you everyone I checked the connections and a earth wire came out the ceiling rose in the bedroom causing the fault in en-suite and the other bedroom ..thanks again for all your advise

Don't think earth wire coming out was the only problem though as that would not stop the light working, it would however make it unsafe.
