Preassure Pump Kicks On Every 2 Minutes.

Hi,

I do live in a flat and there is a pressure pump which is kicking on every 2 minutes or even more often. My question is - is it something wrong with the pump or maybe some pipe is leaking ? where should I start to looking for this annoying issue ?

start by checking the pressure... if it drops, find / fix the leak

Pressure pump for what? shower? It may be the pressure switch housing is loose and just needs tightening.

that is my pump  ---> Stuart turner monsoon negative Twin pump   ( I am not able to past the link sorry) it has silver vessel and green colour. I know that it my not be very specific but I cant past link or picture. I also called Stuart company and they said that this pump is 10y old after I gave serial number.
 
the pump is for running water at my flat, except the toilets... I am not sure how to check the pressure, or vessel. Could you please after looking at the pump advice what should I do ? I am clueless ;/

It is probably time to get a plumber in if you don't have the skills.

So does your flat have low water pressure and this is to boost the pressure?

A plumber should be able to check the expansion vessel very quickly and tell you if it needs replacing.

if pump is off then there will be no water running. My problem is about the pump which is kicking on very 2 minutes even when I don't use water :/

Could someone recommend plumber in Broxbourne, Cheshunt ?

As per canoeboy could be the bladder in the reservoir tank but also maybe a check valve that's leaking. Often you can buy the bladder separately but as suggested already unless you're familiar with working on this type of system and you have a test gauge and some fittings it's probably better to get a plumber in.

Not sure this is relevant now, but might help someone.

It could be that it is an old type universal pump which after a power loss, reverts to default positive head. There is a sequence of button presses which turns it into a negative head pump. The instructions for the pump should tell you what buttons to push. But the OP of this thread phoned Stuart-Turner, so I don't think that this was the problem, although the symptoms are the same.

It happened to me once on a job and it took me some time to realise why the pump kept coming on.
