PYRO.......question for Deke and eldest child only ( possibly)

So whilst routing through my comprehensive stock inventory (BFO box) of Pyro fittings and tooling  imstumbled across an old "F" size Maun Industries Pot crimper.  This is for TINY pots and seals...looks about 1/2" or 3/8" pot..maybe smaller than that. Never worked on pots other than 3/4 20mm.  Or 1" 25mm. Anybody know what the sizings were?  Ie was G bigger, was it 3/4" or what?

The name  "Maun"  sounds vaguely familiar  but don't know why ,  I'm thinking  sidecutters for some reason.

I remember the imperial sizes ...something like  384 / 0045   or 382  / 0045  

I think the first number gave the gland size & the second cross sec, area of the cores.

Metric was much easier as I'm sure you know , with  3L1.5 say for a 3 core  X 1.5sq.mm

And there was the strange converted Mole Wrench , used for the crimp-on wedge pots.

ive got a datasheet for imperial MI somewhere, I'll dig it out later Ian's post it up here. I've also got a bunch of imperial MICC tools in the shed, I'll have to dig them out, I'm sure there is f, j and g size stuff

Davethesparky has just jogged my memory .....the seal crimpers with the two screws and two plates are  marked up F..G..H   etc I'm sure .

just saved it and printed it

deke.....my plate crimpers have 20 and 25 on them...cannot make out hat is on the imperial one, i shall investigate tomorrow.

as for the Mole Crimper...ai have 2 of them. Used to use them on the wedge pots, then turn the doobrie back and use it to crimp the seal

will post some pics tomorrow for the uninitiated

still got some wedge pots, wedges and seals somewhere along with ONE Pyro heatshrink pot substitute!

why did they ever stop making them?....oh, i know....Petrol Pumps.frowned upon using a blowtorch in a petrol pump :slap

Ah ! I recognise the Maun crimper now . 

I dumped all the various strippers in the end and just used the straight twizzling   bar from then on as it fits everything , two crimpers same as your BICC one  and the old fashioned ringing tool .  

There was another  stripping tool where you had to constantly re-adjust the cutting blade , drove me mad

blue metal one with a Hammerite type finish, adjustable,thumbscrew on the top,moved a V shaped mandrel down onto the sheath?
