Quality door entry manufacturer ?

Can anyone recommend  a quality   door entry system maker  ?   

Due to some recent trouble , customer wants the option when an employee is leaving for whatever reason ,  to withdraw their swipe card  .   At the moment theres a Firmax I fitted  which has been handling 50 employees  in & out  6 days a week  for the last 5 yrs  ...but  anyone leaving  can return & let themselves in unless the button code is changed every time . 

Customer is asking about a card swipe  door release ,  with speaker phone to reception above.      I know theres a lot about ,   many Italian ones which are functional  but probably wouldn't stand up to a busy commercial premises main door  in constant use  .  

Just looking for some makes .   Had a quote from  wholesaler  but that has keyfob  control  ....could be an option  but not what was asked for .

id be going with 2 manufacturers. videx for the intercom and paxton for the prox reader. paxton uses either cards or fobs. same sytem, just buy the card or fobs to go with it

with paxton stand alone, if someone leaves and you cant to block their card, then you get the shadow card from the pack, put it on the reader and there now banned

1 system is connected to the door, the output from the other is connected to whatever you use to control the door

what you could do if the intercom is working fine, either disconnect or change the code to the existing keypad, then fit a paxton prox reader and connect it to the intercom

Paxton are good units, that ACT unit I posted about is very good, but probaby overkill for what you want. Think Videx do a swipe card option?

videx do a prox system, but its not the easiest to delete / add fobs. paxton is very easy to do

Agreed, Paxton every time, plus if you're not familiar with their stuff they do free training days around the country, I did one a couple of years ago.

Its one door  Binky  ,  so well used  all day long  that the hinges have worn  down .

Paxton has other uses that can be a good selling point depending on how far you or your customer wants to go, they can be set up to switch lights or heating on or off, also alarm systems, so in essence you could have it so on arrival of the first person it disarms the alarm turns on the lights and fires up the heating, when the last person leaves at night it will do the reverse. It can also be used as a clocking in system, in the software there's a part where assuming all the staff have different access codes. you can tell what time they arrived at work and if they have to scan something or enter a code you can tell what time they leave. You can restrict access to certain area's on certain days, or times of day,  so lets say you have a factory a canteen and an office. The maintenance man is allowed access to the factory and the canteen, during the week but not the offices except between 5 and 7 pm, Monday to Friday, but not weekends. you just set this up in the access menu and it will do it,plus if someone is on holiday you can temporarily block their access. Try and get on a free one day course, you'll be amazed at what the Paxton system is capable of doing.

That ACT system I've been fiddling with does all that and more - probably overkill for a single door. A standalone system for 1 door is so much easier and probably all that is needed.

almost all of that can only be done with the net2 system though, not compact or switch2. and some of it needs the paid software, not the free version

it's normally the net2 that I work with, it's worth knowing all the capabilities of a system for future proofing, isn't it,

true, but you can pick them up cheap sometimes, we had a brand new sealed unit off fleabay for £50, as I said it depends on if they have any expansion plans, if not then fair enough use something else, if they do then it may pay in the long run to use the net2
