I know this has been aired many times but I came accross the following situation this week and wondered what the ideal way to tackle it would be. We've all talked about expoting the earth from a house to a garage/shed but.............
The situation was this
Detached bungalow with a detached garage (approx 2yds from nearest point of bungalow). The incoming electric supply is labelled as pme (DNO confirm it) and enters the garage where it is terminated in the service head. This feeds a wlex rewireable board (with plug in BS 60898 mcbs it has 6 circuits) which is sited next to the service head in the garage. All circuits then go into some galvanised trunking down into the floor and to the house. The gas meter is also in the garage and is bonded there. Water is bonded at the stop tap in the house.
AM I right in thinking this is an exported earth. In an ideal world it'd be best to move the consumer unit to the house and bond everything there ?
Could I beg those with greater experience/knowledge to give their views and sugestions how to make the installation as safe as possible within reasonable costs.:worship
