In the office again.
I`ve trawled the past topics, and haven`t seen the info I`m looking for........

I`ve got the possibility of site work at the end of next week......but I don`t have either of these cards, `cos I`ve never needed `em.

So here`s the question:

If you have a CSCS or ECS, what level (colour) is it, and what proof of quals did you have to provide.

The reason for the quals question is this:

I don`t have my 236 certs - due to family circumstances at the time, I never had the chance to return to the college to collect `em.

Last time I spoke to C&G, they suggested I go back onto the college.......which had been closed for >10 years.

I do have all the other certs, both the nvq and the C&Gs - what is the quickest & cheapest option for me here?

Thanks

KME

Just get a cscs operatives card for now mate . It's more for the site induction really. Thats what I did.

Surely C&G have a copy that they could or should pass onto you as i believe your C&G candidate number or somethink like that would be your reference to obtain them.

Quickest bet will be CSCS site op card.

Eventually I would suggest you approach the JIB for a grade card.

C&G should be able to get you duplicate certs, though, you may have to pay for them.

If the work coming up is fairly soon just get a CSCS card. I waited about 2 months in total from application to receiving the card in the post

I had problems getting a full electricians ECS card. After i did the H&S course (45 quid!) sent off to JIB (25 quid)& got knocked back as i could not produce any original C&G certs. C&G have only kept electronic records for about the past 15yrs. When i asked for copies i was told that due to the length of time when i qualified (1976) they would now be in storage & they have neither the manpower or time to dig them out.

I explained all this to JIB & they eventually issued me an electrical labourer card! :Spam2
