I can't imagine it works like that. Normally MCBs RCBs and RCBOs are normed in their size and connection positions. I never came across a board, which told me, that only the board producers own MCBs, RCBOs have to be used.
It's not the manufacturers' instructions you have to worry about.
It is the product law and product standards that you need to comply with the requirements of BS 7671 that you need to worry about.
 
It’s funny how people negate the law until it affects them, then suddenly they want to know al labour the law?
It happened to me and trust me now I know the appropriate law!
If only I had time to retrain in law!
 
@Sidewinder I have never been able to find anything in statute that says I have to comply with the requirements of BS7671.
I have never said that 7671 is necessary.
Though AdP requires you comply with 7671.
I am stating that compliance with the LVD is required for consumer units because that is the law.
7671 is not needed to implement that requirement.
 
Bottom line is people can write all the words they want but unless bad practice is stopped the Dolly mixture boards will always be in people’s home
