These are some pictures I took whilst doing a survey for a possible works order. They could be at home in the Black museum but have posted them here for you to ponder over. The building is mixed use, one of the meters supplies two flats upstairs.

The new addition has been done at least half right.

Whats going on with the tails to the meter in the 2nd pic? Are they wrapped in tape?

I see, that box is some sort of enclosure for a large connector. The t&e feed the old Wylex board and the switch fuse via the second check meter . Thats probably why the tails have been wrapped as they are single insulation. Round my way the REC frown on that sort of box as any mischief could be happening in there. Is it a purpose made unit as i don't recognise it.

PS, i thought you didn't do domestics ?

It looks like a cellar with a serious damp problem and well over due for a lick of paint.

Quite apart from the lousy wiring.

It is an old victorian house the first floor was turned into a surgery around 30 years ago I would guess,I am there to bring the electrics up to standard to HTM 06, for the NHS.

The T&E is 16mm and is the feeds for the old wylex board and the flats upstairs. The box under the meter is a 2 pole henley type, and as you can see another problem is the extremely damp conditions in the cellar. On the right in one of the pictures you may just make out a 12"x12" square vent, there are another 2 of the same size near to the supply as well. I also have doubts as to what is acting as a fuse for the T&E going to the second meter?
