Bit of advice please, if you would be so kind.

I have a TV with built in freeview [part of kitchen project]....present wife has decreed that she would like to be able to record and playback onto this Tv. Do I just get another freeview PVR/DVR and connect aerial to this and then onto the new TV? or will it sulk and go all 'moody' if 2 freeview devices are connected together?

I have 2 HDMI

2 scart

USB

network

RGB phono [can't remember what its called

I can call at CPC tomorrow to collect any required bits, but do not know what is required?

All advice gratefully received....

cant see any problems with aerial feeding into freeview box then into TV

shopping list would be freeview with recording facility and an aerial between it and the TV. and possibly a scart / HDMI lead between freeview & TV

for top quality leads, you could always get platinum plated cable at

,,, although I wouldn't pass the signal through the PVR, I'd split the aerial before them
if you dont split it, then you can use the aerial between the 2 for the video, rather than the aerial for TV freeview & another lead for video from external box

Ive done this...No Probs......What you get is 3 tuners............2 tuners in the PVR so you can watch one channel and record another. But because you have a TV with FV you can now record 2 channels and switch to the TVs FV to watch a 3rd.

So I just get a 2 tuner PVR then? What is best way to connect it? CoAx or scart or HDMI or what?? Thanks

Read the tv's manual first.

It has a USB port.

Many tv's, when you plug a USB storage device in, will allow it to function as a very basic PVR. It of course only has one tuner, but handy to "pause live tv" (so you can watch it and skip the adverts) or record something when the tv is not being watched.

We have a two channel PVR with recorder and freeview in the TV also they are connected with a HDMI cable and work fine only thing that annoys me everytime you turn TV on you need both remotes as you have to change TV to HDMI channel as well as turn freeview box on. There probably is a way of getting over this but i haven't found it yet.

or maybe its so you can surf the interweb on the world largest forum screwfix.com :slap

To be fair on 'first wife', the stuff she got was needed for the new kitchen, plus we had to go in order to bring back some stuff our son had bought and would not fit in his car.

Ikea pencils are better than Screwfix ones and I am now 'pencil rich' for the next few months!!! Some good stuff in the clearance section; got 2 pairs of stainless steel legs in a sort of 'n' configuration [

I have a relatively new LG 50z250pz and cant work out why it has an RJ45 on the back.... I thought I could get iplayer etc on it but no can do?
Probable to update the software/ firmware or some computery stuff like that. Ive used nearly all ports on mine down to using VGA for my laptop! My tivo box has a rj45 on it no idea what thats for! My DVD player has one as it does all sorts of things like skype ect...

Thanks Wozz

The RJ45 can get an internet connection and even update the software but it seems this model is 'nobbled' ie capable of more features but inhibited. I feel a bit cheated TBH but apart from that a great TV. I will try an aerial and see what HD channels I can get on the freeview side. My bro just set up a sony bravia 32" for my mum and he had a picture and even some HD and then realised the coax was lying in the back yard not even connected to an aerial!
