Hi

I have a 2 person Jacuzzi bath with coloured LED lights and a radio. I want to take this out and replace with a normal bath (no electrics).

Under the bath is a plastic box and inside this is a terminal strip. Obviously to disconnect the bath...the connection can be removed...but what should I do with the main feed wire? How should I cap it off safely? Is it best to shorten the wire or tuck it in the wall for someone to use in the future?

Thanks in advance as I know someone on here will help.

Disconnect the conductor from all sources of energy at the

point of supply and then leave the other end of the cable

coiled up with crimped insulated fittings (or similar) on the

ends and then place a blank over the enclosure. Label it

so anyone can identify it in future.

if this circuit is unique to the jacuzzi, then the ideal situation would be to also disconnect at your Consumer Unit (fuseboard) - I can't stand circuits being left live, when not in use.

Hi

Thanks to both for the replies - I don't think it is just for the bath - there is a shower pod in the bathroom along the landing (basically the other side of the wall) and this has a sauna and radio etc....I think at some point the power goes there as well??

Oh for a normal bath and normal shower...why I thought anyone would be in there long enough to listen to the radio ...don't know what I was thinking when we had them installed!

Plodding on removing tiles, which is something I can do...I hope!

no tile can resist a lump hammer :slap

best to try and remove with a bolster in one piece, and wear gloves, the bit that makes tiles shiny is basically glass and very sharp when broken.

Reading this I'm just thankful the wife never chose an enormous bath that'll cost God knows how much to fill complete with jets and underwater "mood" lights that I've yet to fit................Oh wait..............SHE DID!

Tbh she WOULD spend that long in the bath to warrant a radio!
