Hi guys, new here. Sorry for the dumb question but I have an old ceiling plate spotlight which I would like to replace. But I am having problems removing it. It hasn't got a central nut or side screws which I can remove. It is attached in the middle but I can't access the screw. Can anyone help?

Ok I know but I can't post pics as a neebie without hitting 10 posts!

I could use a wrecking ball but it might be overkill

Hi prodave,

it is definitely attached through the middle, although I cannot see the screw head. The cover is flush with the plate so I don't see how I can access the screw without damaging the light. There are no side screws either.

i don't understand why they use hidden fittings, it annoys the hell out of me.

Thanks Murdoch!

Just post replies on this thread and you'll get to 10 quite quickly!
Thanks Murdoch!

Thanks, it's a bit of a silly rule really. If I can post a pic, I am sure you guys will give me an answer in 2 secs!!

Did think about that. Not seen one like that, would that not damage the wires within?

Ok here goes, just registered with photobucket. Will try uploading a photo

Nope 😫😫

Thanks for being so patient!

Ok let's see whether I can post the link...
