someone had a big bag of nails.

I rewired a flat in Salcombe, it had been re-wired by a senior engineer of Hawker Sidley. He often worked from this flat in Salcombe, so it had 2 secret work rooms opened by moving a picture to lift a latch. An extractor fan that was definetly ex-factory, and all he wall lights (240V) wired in bell wire running down the wall and held by panel pins inserted through the middle of the cable. Something like 20 wall lights. On the upside he had marked every floorboard as JB underneath, stopcock, water pipes etc etc. It had worked fine for 60 odd years. I sometimes think BS7671 is pidgeon-poop when I find stuff like that.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing sparkytim; cables and pipes are nails best friends and they love to party?

I worked for Hawker Siddeley (Brook Motors) for 24 years binky and yes we had lots of inventive characters there.

Kind regards, Col.
