I've just started a rewire of a small property. My original thought was to have seperate radial circuits for upstairs sockets and for downstairs sockets and a ring for the kitchen sockets. However the kitchen is only small, will have a max of 4 double sockets, provision for a fridge/freezer, a washing machine and a cooker hood (No room for any more appliances). So I was wondering if a ring is really necessary or would a 20 A radial suffice? I'm open minded about what to put in and was just wondering what others would put in:put the kettle on

I'd probably do a 20A kitchen radial Mikel, same for the bedrooms .

I did an earlier thread discussing a small house, wired by someone else, that I went to 2nd fix .

Three 32A rings !!! Come on !!! Like your job , 4 sockets on the kitchen ring........... 3 bedrooms ,another ring , .......a lounge and dinning room was another ring FFS Total overkill!!

I did a board change on Monday , house had 3 radials , never had a problem they said.

If cost is not an issue you can do all sorts of stuff , as Kerchy says . Last time we put a dedicated radial socket in for a giant freezer , customer decided to put it somewhere else .

Typical that and it's usually after they've decorated too.
