Hello Chaps,

have to fill in risk assesment,

any ideas what i should put in the boxes?

i have: ladders (risk of falling) and risk of electric shock but cant think of any others.

any ideas?

thanks

Sorry for being serious, but my experieince suggests that you need to think about the things around you - therefore a generic "fits every job" risk assessment is frankly boll*cks.

Think about: vehicles running you over, knocking your ladders, etc. Rotten floors, lights going out whilst you're in a difficult access area, rat p*ss (Wiels disease), falling over the extension cable the builder has pulled tight across the top of the stairs, the plumber raping your apprentice - the list goes on and on!

but you cant RA every single thing... otherwise nothing would get done!

That's kind of where generic traing comes in to play, but isn't really suitable for small outfits - too expensive. In theory this is also covered by apprentice training, so RA should identify risks appropiate to specific circumstances, all other stuff being accepted as normal work practices.

for most 'risks', im more than capable of using my eyes and thinking 'that loks safe' or 'that looks dangerous'. and it does quite well to keep me alive
