Hi all its been a while but time is something I don't have much of lately.

Wiring network in my house

I have setup cat5e from router to bed room and another to loft wich will have a splitter, Network switch I think they call them, which will service other room s at a later date.

now to save room in my grid plate can I wire both cat5e into one rj45 face plate, if not I can wire it into two but would be better for me if 2 into 1 would work

thanks

got a double with 4 mods,

1coax

 1 hdmi

2 rj45

but if I can double up on the rj45 it would give me another space

got some brushes to pass hdmi  out,  could extend the cat5 out straight into router through them, would give me a bit more space.

I guess two cat5 into one rj45 mod wont work.

thanks for help

You can only have 1 thing plugged into any one cat5 line at a time,,, IYKWIM
You can actually have 2 devices connected and working at one time by using splitters ( called cable economisers by some folk)

This will, only work if the kit follows the standard configuration for ethernet over twisted pair ( i think it is 802.3.1....but it is a long time since I cared about standrds numbers enough to,remember them...FFS I Cannot remember what I Had for tea tonight!)

123&6 go to one device 457&8 to the other. Same at other end. Will not work for HDMI as it needs all 8

Just saying

its ok I have 2 cat5 cable and 2 mods I can use or I can bring cable out the brush, I am just trying to be greedy with what space I have.
