Room thermosat question

Hey folks,

Found this site and registered and dropping in to say "Hello" and after some help with a heating thermostat.

I bought one many moons ago, and it's worked fine, but I'm after a new one that works with Google, the one I have has three wires, (see attached) and the new one that I'm thinking of buying is has the diagram which is attached also, question is, I don't understand the No Type and the NC Type? I know it'll be the 3 amp one which I have at the moment.

If I get the new one do I wire it up as the NC Type?

Connect it exactly as in your right hand picture. If your wires are not red, blue and yellow, let us know what they are.

NO normally open, NC normally closed.

Open means off, the timer then turns heating on when the timer switch or thermostat closes the contacts, ie switches the system on to provide heating.

NC would be used to control cooling, i.e. it is "on" until the temperature gets down to what you want.
