Routing cables

Got a rewire coming up...

The Meter will be in a kitchen cupboard and instead of putting the CU in there as well I was thinking of mounting the CU higher up on the wall, but the question is how to get the cables there (tails, earths and circuits)??

Now there will be some boxing in with hot and cold pipes, so I was thinking of putting a batten beside the pipes to create a compartment for the cables and mounting the CU to the side of the boxing....

Can anyone see any problems with this???

I do not see any problems with that, you have a space between the electrical cables and the pipes so you comply with segregation etc. It would also make working on the cu more easy without the need to work inside a cuboard.

My thoughts exactly....

It's a pain in the **** when you have to empty a cupboard to get at the CU.
