stuck between a firm pair of t***
does anyone else think it is unacepable that the bbc have not had any coverage of the world cup, not even on 5 live sports extra. i find it hard to belive that they dont cover the england/wales/scotland matches, not even on radio but are happy to have commentry from a 2bit rubbish footy match from league 1.

rant over

I think overall sports coverage on terrestrial TV is carp!!

especially where the national teams are playing..

be it Rugby, Cricket, Footy etc...

:C

ITV beat them to the bidding rights no doubt. As games are shown on ITV 1 and ITV 4 depending upon day off week games are played.

Its fair enough if itv have the viewing rights, but they should still have it on the radio.

Right wing people moan about the uk loosing its identity, is it any wonder when the beeb are so un patriotic

Paul I think its down to money and overspending the license income , They would be criticised if they competed with Sky etc. Also I'm sure I heard Rugby on 5L late at night.

I tend to support them because the older I get the more I cannot put up with the constant bombardment of adverts from the commercial channels . In my opinion commercial TV is geared to showing hours of adverts with some bits of a programme thrown in to keep you watching . When you flick through the channels with the zapper its ads after ads , hours and hours of them . What a joy to watch something like "New Tricks" for an hour without interruption .

I think Sky money has tied up all the footy except the odd international , the Beeb is left with Wimbledon .

The ads are one reson i dont have a tv, i am not expecting every game on the beeb, well with out a tv i could not watch it anyway, i just think ots a poor show not to have the home nations on 5l or 5l xtra, they have paid for personel to be out the with the odd update so would cost no more on saff.

Oh well will just have to watch the highlights on itv player

No mate, you only need a licence if you watch it live on a computer. You dont need one for iplayer, tbh i wish you did, i used to have loads of time and there was a nive feeling in the house with background music but now i find myself watching the saint, the sweeny and any other rubbish 70,s cop show

great games so far especially the welsh tackle it nearly snapped the guy in half.

I must admit - I do prefer the Beeb to televise sport (rugby in particular).
